AdaptivAI Browser Connector – Privacy Policy
Last updated: 1 November 2026
1. Scope
ADAPTIVAI publishes the “AdaptivAI Browser Connector” extension for Google Chrome (the “Extension”), distributed through the Chrome Web Store. This page constitutes the Extension’s privacy policy within the meaning of the Chrome Web Store Developer Program Policies.
The Extension is published by ADAPTIVAI, a French simplified joint-stock company (SAS) with share capital of €52,632.00, registered with the Paris Trade and Companies Register under number 981 503 931, whose registered office is at 2, Villa Souchier, 75116 Paris. ADAPTIVAI is the data controller for the processing described below.
2. Purpose
The Extension has a single purpose: allowing the AdaptivAgent web application (agent.adaptivai.app) to read and act on the browser tabs that the user explicitly designates with an @ mention in a conversation. It has no interface of its own other than a status popup and a banner displayed in the tab while the agent acts on it, with a Stop button. Nothing runs without an explicit designation by the user.
3. Data processed
Depending on the actions requested by the user, the Extension processes the following data:
- Content of the designated tabs only: visible text, form fields and their values, links and tables, as well as the title and address of the page.
- Screenshots of a designated tab, when the agent requests one in order to understand the page.
- Documents displayed or downloaded by a designated tab (PDF files, images, office documents) that the agent is asked to read, together with the technical request headers needed to retrieve them, excluding cookies. These headers are kept in the browser’s session storage for a maximum of 30 minutes.
- Technical data kept in the browser’s session storage: the link between the designated tabs and the conversation, the page elements the agent has referred to, and Stop requests. This data is deleted when Chrome is closed and is never written to disk.
The Extension never types passwords, one-time codes or payment details. Submitting a form requires the user’s prior approval in AdaptivAgent. When a login, verification or consent page is detected, control is handed back to the user.
The Extension does not collect browsing history, cookies, or any data from tabs that the user has not designated.
4. Recipients and use of the data
The data collected is transmitted exclusively to the AdaptivAgent servers operated by ADAPTIVAI, as part of the conversation of the user who requested the action, where it is processed to produce the agent’s answer and stored with that conversation under the conditions of the AdaptivAgent service. It is not sold, not transferred to third parties for their own purposes, not used for advertising, and not used to assess creditworthiness or for lending purposes. Only the AdaptivAgent origin (https://agent.adaptivai.app) can communicate with the Extension.
The Extension contains no remote code, no analytics and no tracker.
5. Permissions requested
The Extension requests the following Chrome permissions, each for the stated purpose: “tabs” to list the user’s open tabs so that one can be designated; “scripting” and access to all sites to inject the reading and filling functions, on demand, into the designated tab only (no script runs when a page loads); “storage” for the session data described above; “webRequest”, in observation mode only, to detect documents loaded by a designated tab; “downloads” to intercept downloads triggered by the agent’s own action in a designated tab.
6. Retention
Data kept by the Extension itself is limited to the browser’s session storage and disappears when Chrome is closed, or earlier when the user removes the Extension. Data transmitted to AdaptivAgent is retained with the user’s conversation for as long as that conversation exists in the service, and deleted when the user deletes it or when the account is closed.
7. Your rights and contact
Users may exercise their rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection and portability under the GDPR by writing to the address below. Removing the Extension from Chrome immediately deletes all of its session data.
- Email: contact.website@adaptivai.net
- Post: ADAPTIVAI, 2, Villa Souchier, 75116 Paris, France
Users also have the right to lodge a complaint with the French data protection authority (CNIL).
8. Changes to this policy
ADAPTIVAI may update this policy to reflect changes to the Extension. The date at the top of this page indicates the latest version; material changes are also mentioned in the Extension’s Chrome Web Store listing.
